Jan. 12, 2007 - Off Roading in Springdale UT

Description: Off Roading in the Snow at Springdale

Steve, Ken, and I decide to run some off-road trails outside of Springdale. Steve owns the Under the Eaves Bed and Breakfast in Springdale, at the entrance to Zion National Park. Ken also owns a Bed and Breakfast in the area. The old Land Rover Series II FFR (Fit For Radio) is Steve's. It has an unusual 24 VDC electrical system. It's a dreary day as we start out. From our room at the B&B, you can see SHO8, our Longitude Expedition Land Rover covered in snow. Judy just had back surgery so she had to sit this one out. You can see her staring out the room window wishing she were up to going along. I'm not used to going out without her.

Being men with our toys, we've got to take lots of photos of our trucks. Think of it as a photo essay about a young and an old Land Rover. Forget the men and mountains in the scenes, they're incidental.

On the way back from the run, we stopped at a ghost town dating back to the mid to late 1800's, and checked out some of the old adobe buildings and grave yard. People didn't live very long back then.

The photos at the end of this photo set are of our room at the Under the Eaves Bed and Breakfast at Zion National Park. Steve and his wife, Deb, are two very nice English folks. If you're ever planning on visiting Zion National Park, give him a call and book a room. You won't be sorry.
